Microsoft made $51.9 billion in fiscal fourth quarter 2022

Microsoft was able to earn $51.9 billion ($16.7 billion in net income) in the fourth financial quarter of 2022.
If we take the same period last year, the company earned $46.2 billion ($16.5 billion in net profit). Here are the highlights from this quarter's press release:
• Revenue was $51.9 billion, up 12% (to 16% in constant currency);
• Operating profit of $20.5bn, up 8% (to 14% in constant currency);
• Net income was $16.7 billion, up 2% (to 7% in constant currency);
• Diluted earnings per share of $2.23, up 3% (to 8% in constant currency);
Here are the highlights of Fiscal Year 2022:
• Revenue was $198.3 billion, up 18% (to 19% in constant currency);
• Operating profit of $83.4 billion, up 19% (to 21% in constant currency);
• Net income was $72.7bn (up 19%);
• Diluted earnings per share of $9.65 (up 20%);
Here are the metrics for the More Personal Computing category:
• Revenue increased by 2% (to 5% in constant currency);
• Windows OEM revenue down 2%;
• Revenue from commercial Windows products and cloud services increased by 6% (to 12% in constant currency);
• Xbox content and services revenue down 6% (down 4% in constant currency);
• Search and news advertising revenue, excluding traffic acquisition costs, increased by 18% (to 21% in constant currency);
• Surface revenue increased by 10% (to 15% in constant currency);
Here are the metrics for the Intelligent Cloud category:
• Revenue increased by 20% (to 25% in constant currency);
• Server products and cloud services revenue increased by 22% (to 26% in constant currency) due to the increase in revenue of Azure and other cloud services by 40% (up to 46% in constant currency);
Here are the metrics for the Productivity and Business Processes category:
• Revenue increased by 13% (to 17% in constant currency);
• Commercial Office products and cloud services revenue increased 9% (to 13% in constant currency) driven by a 15% increase in Office 365 Commercial revenue (to 19% in constant currency);
• Revenue from sales of Office Consumer products and cloud services increased by 9% (to 12% in constant currency), and the number of Microsoft 365 Consumer subscribers increased to 59.7 million;
• LinkedIn revenue increased by 26% (to 29% in constant currency);
• Revenue from Dynamics products and cloud services increased by 19% (to 24% in constant currency) driven by a 31% increase in revenue of Dynamics 365 (up to 36% in constant currency).
